ABOUT THE PELOTONIA
Pelotonia is a grass roots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. Pelotonia raises money for innovative and life saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Driven by the passion of its cyclists and volunteers, and their family and friends, Pelotonia's annual cycling experience will be a place of hope, energy and determination. Leveraging NetJets' transformational gift, Pelotonia directs 100% of every dollar raised to research. It is a community of people coming together to chase down cancer and defeat it.
ABOUT THE JAMES
As the Midwest's first and Ohio's only freestanding cancer hospital and research institute, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute is one of only 40 centers in the United States designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. The James is a national leader in creating and testing new therapies based on scientific research, many of which are offered nowhere else in the world.
ABOUT ME
As an avid bike rider, last year I participated in the Pelotonia raising over $3000 to help out with cancer research. This year, my wife Debbie and oldest son Michael (14) will join me in riding for this cause.
I am a father of 6 kids. We found out that we were pregnant with our oldest son right after we found out that my father had liver cancer. My father died months later as they were not able to catch it before it spread throughout his body. Debbie, Michael and I are riding in remembrance of him, who was never able to enjoy our 6 children.
A few years ago, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being in the healthcare field, I quickly queried friends that were doctors for where she should go for treatment. Conversation after conversation, they all pointed me to one place, The James. We got her in to see Dr. Farrar right away. Years after her surgery and follow-up visits, she remains cancer free. We are riding in celebration of the blessing of having her still around due to the work done at the James.
ABOUT THE EVENT
I have organized a Cornhole Tournament and Silent Auction to help with the fundraising for this ride. 100% of the tournament registration fees will go towards the Pelotonia ride which means that 100% of the fees will go towards cancer research. Here are the details:

Registration is from 7:30 am to 8:30 am
Games start at 8:30 am and run until the last bracketed game occurs based on number of teams registered.

Cost:
$30 per team if payed before July 4th or $40 after or day of.
Registration and Payment:
To register you will need to make a donation on my Pelotonia donation site. Just click on the
Pelotonia link below after reading the instructions.
When filling out the donation form, you will need to enter three pieces of information.
1) Enter the cost of the event in the Donation Amount ($30 before July 4th, $40 afterwards)
2) Enter Cornhole for Cancer in the Donation Recognition box.
3) Enter your Team Name in the box that says Include an Email Note.
After payment, you will receive a confirmation of your payment from the Pelotonia website as well as a follow-up email from me.
